It's Almost Here!

At 7:00 a.m. on July 23, 2013, I will be set apart as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. I will be serving in the Germany Frankfurt mission for a period of 18 months. I am so excited to go and embark on this journey!

For those of you that are wondering why I am choosing to serve a mission, it is because I know of the truthfulness of this gospel. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and that they love us. We were sent to earth to learn and grow and hopefully return to our Father again. I know that God and His Son appeared unto Joseph Smith and that through him the fulness of Christ's gospel was restored on earth. For these reasons, I am choosing to serve a mission. I want others to feel the love and joy that I have felt in my life.

The messages found in the Book of Mormon are real. It is truly another testament of Christ and goes hand in hand with the Bible. The promise found in Moroni 10: 3-5 are real:
Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

I have read the Book of Mormon several times and have prayed to know if it is true of not. Every time, I receive a witness from the Holy Ghost of the divinity of the book and that it truly is a book of Christ. It is real and it is written for us. If you have not yet read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know of its truth, I would encourage you and ask you to do it today.

I know that Christ came to earth to save us from our sins. Please read my farewell talk to learn more about the atonement and of the pure love that Christ has for each and every one of us.
If you want to learn more about what I believe, please contact your local missionaries or visit www.mormon.org. Also, my mom will be posting my weekly letters on this site, so check back weekly to read of my experiences and of my stories!
Love, Savannah Teeples
